My approach
Real estate in coastal Maine can be beautifully straightforward—or unexpectedly complex.
My job is to do the homework, surface the tradeoffs early, and guide you through decisions with clarity.

A Career Built on Responsibility, Precision, and People
Long before real estate, my professional life revolved around high-value assets, high expectations, and very little room for error.
I began my career training competitive equestrians on the East Coast hunter-jumper circuit, an environment where preparation, discipline, and calm decision-making matter just as much as talent. That work led to a consulting role developing and managing the construction of a large equestrian facility for a former client, overseeing everything from build-out logistics to long-term operational planning.
From there, I transitioned into full-service private residential estate management, where I managed complex properties, staff, scheduling, maintenance, and sensitive client needs, all while maintaining discretion, efficiency, and absolute reliability.
I’m Jessica Gelineau, a Realtor with RE/MAX Jaret & Cohn, based in Belfast.
My background includes high-responsibility work in private residential estate management and operations—Those years taught me how to:
organized, candid, proactive, and calm.
- Manage multiple priorities without losing sight of the details Midcoast Maine (often Bath to Belfast and nearby towns)
- Anticipate problems before they become issues coastal homes, in-town living, historic properties, relocation, second homes
- Communicate quickly, clearly, directly, and honestly prepared, direct, kind, and transparent about tradeoffs
- Stay calm and solution-oriented when stakes are high
My job is to help you understand the variables so you can choose the path that fits your priorities.
Why clients choose to work with me
Here’s what buyers and sellers often tell me they value most—especially with coastal and older homes.
Local expertise (not generic advice)
Midcoast Maine is not one market. I help you understand town-by-town differences, seasonal dynamics,
and practical factors you don’t see in a listing description.
Clear, honest communication
You’ll always know what’s happening and what comes next. I explain options in plain English,
name the tradeoffs, and keep things moving without pressure.
Strategy built around your goals
No cookie-cutter plan. Whether you’re buying or selling, we build a strategy around your timeline,
budget comfort, and the kind of home/lifestyle you want.
Midcoast Maine is not one market
If you’re searching “Midcoast Maine realtor,” you’re probably comparing towns and lifestyle—not just listings.
Here’s a practical way to narrow the search.
How That Experience Translates to Real Estate
Buying or selling a home—especially in a market like Midcoast Maine is rarely simple. There are moving parts, deadlines, financial considerations, inspections, negotiations, and emotional weight all happening at once.
My background allows me to approach real estate the same way I approached estate management:
Thoughtfully
Efficiently
With respect for both the asset and the people involved
I don’t believe in rushed decisions or unnecessary pressure. I believe in clear information, strategic planning, and steady guidance, so clients feel confident every step of the way.

Today, I’m based in Belfast, Maine, where I apply those same principles to helping clients buy and sell homes throughout the Midcoast.
I live in town with my husband and our three Boston Terriers. You’ll often find me walking by the harbor, renovating our 1870 downtown Foursquare, admiring the 18th-century homes along High Street, or simply connecting with neighbors.
This isn’t just where I work—it’s where I’m invested.
